JR Haddad & Company has conducted business by meeting with clients personally and prides itself on its personability and collaboration with clients for a seamless design and implementation process. In a time of Michigan’s stay at home order, we have adopted other avenues of communication to get your project design complete so that when the order is lifted you will be ready to get your project scheduled in time for summer.

Communication on your terms.

Reach out to JR Haddad & Company and advise them of your wishes to conduct business virtually until further notice. Establish a path of communication moving forward and inform them of how you wish to carry out interactions with your designer. There are many free virtual communication tools available. Facetime is available if you both have iPhones and is very easy to use to conduct virtual communications. If you are using different devices, Facebook Messenger Video Chat or Skype can be alternative options. Zoom, which is a free video chat platform is also available. Zoom offers a screen sharing option so you and your designer can review plans. In today’s day and age, there is no shortage of platforms to use for virtual communications.

Describe your project vision.Hand Drawn Landscape

You will need to provide your designer with a detailed description of your project and what you would like to accomplish in the final design. Be as detailed as possible and be sure to communicate your design requirements, your budget, the functionality and the timeline of your project. The more information your designer has during your initial consultation will ensure a seamless design process.

Gather ideas using Pinterest.

Pinterest is a free and easy way to discover designs and styles you like and an effortless way to make sure your designer understands your vision. Create Moodboards using Pinterest pins to create designs and ideas you love. Pin photos of all aspects you would like to incorporate into your design. This is the time to convey to your wish list for your project to your designer. You and your designer can then figure out which ideas will fit with your budget. Be creative and make selections based on the functionality of the project.

Photos and videos of your current outdoor space are important.

It is important to have as many pictures and angles of the areas of your yard that you want to update. Use walkthrough videos with commentary to describe your outdoor project in full detail so your designer can get a better idea of what you need. If you have questions that you want to run past your designer, ask them during the video.

Measurements and Site Surveys.

Accurate measurements of your yard are very important in the design process. This will give your designer the ability to know exactly what they are dealing with regarding the scope of your project. Site surveys are also a great way for your designer to see the scope of your property. Check with your county clerk to find out how you can obtain a copy.

Your Estimate.

Once all your design ideas have been communicated to your designer you will receive a copy of an estimate within a few days. If you are satisfied with the estimate and decide to move forward, you can request your designer to complete a sketched drawing of your new design. This is when you see your dreams become a reality.
